Partners in Textile Exhibition & Iconic II

11th August to 19th September, 2017

Partners in Textile was a huge  undertaking. Three if us, Sybil Orr, Cathy Moon and myself shared the whole of the Butter Factory Gallery in Cooroy, QLD. The Gallery also housed my solo Exhibition, ICONIC  II. This was a mixed exhibition of my painting, Textiles , and wooden cutouts with beads.

Janet De Boer attended as a guest speaker. Well-known in the Australian textile art industry, Janet has nurtured many textile artists over the decades and became our Mentor as well. Janet was instrumental in bringing textile artists from other countries to showcase and teach their work, and together with Australian textile artists created an incredible resource of knowledge and skills to share.

We generated over 1400 visitors to the Gallery. Textiles are treated as an underground art, but we were able to show that so many people are interested and practising in the textile and Fibre arts.

Once again The Icon Lady was centre stage, and well received. The design carried my eclectic group of artworks and tied together this diverse group of pictures.
